About Airpura (Company Background)

My Experience with Airpura
I’ve worked with Airpura products since 2009, so I have a lot of experience with their products and I’ve worked with many Airpura customers through the years.
Personally, I own two Airpura V414 air purifiers (White and Champagne Mist). These units run daily in my home and remain among the top-rated on my best air purifier lists.

Airpura Filters – HEPA vs. Super HEPA
Airpura offers two primary filter technologies:
- True HEPA (H13): Captures 99.97% of particles at 0.3 microns.
- Super HEPA (H14): Captures 99.99% at 0.1 microns and has the ability to filter ultrafine particles as small as 0.003 microns.
👉 Of Note: 85% of my customers choose the Super HEPA upgrade due to its ultrafine particle performance.
Activated Carbon Filtration
Many of the Airpura solutions have large carbon capacity, making them effective against VOCs, odors, chemicals, and wildfire smoke.
Available carbon sizes:
- 8 lbs.
- 18 lbs.
- 26 lbs.
This is significantly higher than most consumer-grade purifiers, allowing for longer filter life and stronger chemical absorption.
Build Quality and Design
Airpura units feature a powder-coated steel chassis, rated as light-industrial quality. Customers often describe the design as “sturdy” and even “industrial” compared to plastic consumer models. I consider the Airpura product line to be “light industrial” in quality.
The focus is on performance over cosmetics — simple dial controls, no Wi-Fi, no touchscreens.
Why No Smart Features?
Airpura solutions do not possess any “smart features” or air quality sensors.
In my experience:
- Most built-in sensors are inaccurate.
- Wi-Fi apps can sometimes be useful, however, they do not improve overall filtration.
Instead, Airpura focuses on making the units durable, and effective.
