🔹 #5 – IQAir News: Atem X Wall Mount + New Purifier Teaser
IQAir recently introduced a wall mount kit for their Atem X Room air purifier. For around $200, you can now hang the Atem X on the wall — a great option for people short on floor space.

But the bigger news is that IQAir teased a brand-new purifier launch for September 8, 2025. From the preview image, the unit looks cylindrical (similar to Airpura or AllerAir), with air exiting from the top like a Levoit or Oransi model.
Why this matters: IQAir rarely releases new products. I’ve followed them for 18+ years, and they’re known for being extremely careful about what they bring to market. Key questions: Will this unit include carbon? How large is it? What price point? Many customers have told me they avoided the Atem X Room Air Purifier because it lacked carbon — so it will be very interesting to see what IQAir has included in their most recent solution.
🔹 #4 – Aeris 3-in-1 Filter Situation
Owners of the Aeris 3-in-1 air purifier have been left searching for filters since iRobot stopped manufacturing them. The good news: Filter Monster announced plans to release replacement filters in October 2025.
Filter Monster is a third-party filter manufacturer that typically offers lower prices than OEMs. But quality is a big question. In my own analysis of their Austin Air HealthMate replacement filter, I found:
- Weaker gasket compared to OEM
- 20% lighter weight → likely less carbon
So while Filter Monster’s Aeris replacement may provide a short-term solution, I doubt it will match the original Swiss-made quality.
Side note: iRobot has been struggling financially and has offered massive discounts (up to 64% off) on their robotic vacuums. Worth a look if you’re in the market.
🔹 #3 – Airpura: Super Gas Carbon
Airpura launched a new carbon option: Super Gas Carbon, which they say is, “our most advanced activated carbon blend, designed to handle the toughest environments.”
For those unfamiliar, Airpura is already known for high level carbon filtration as their units have 8, 18, and even 26 lbs. of carbon in them. And they also offer customized blends, as well. This new option could be a significant upgrade for environments with VOCs, odors, smoke, and/or chemicals.
I personally own two Airpura V414 units, and I may test this new option when it’s time to replace my carbon.

🔹 #2 – AllerAir: My First Unit
I have 15 years of experience with the AllerAir brand and I finally purchased my first unit: the AirMed 1 Supreme. This compact purifier is just 19” tall and 11” wide and it offers good quality particle + carbon filtration at a reasonable price.

The most impactful news comes from Finland. A $14 million, 3.5-year study called E3 (Excellence in Pandemic Response and Enterprise Solutions Project) brought together 7 research institutes and 22 companies.
Key finding: In daycare centers, children’s morbidity dropped 18% when air purifiers were used.
